1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including your phone number when you create an account, your name and profile photo when you set up your profile, and your city-level location to help connect buyers and sellers nearby. When you use the app, we also collect listing content (photos, descriptions, prices), messages you send to other users, and offer amounts. We do not collect or store your full street address. Location data is stored at the city or region level only.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the marketplace, facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers, send you SMS verification codes and push notifications about your activity, display your public profile to other users, and calculate seller ratings based on completed transactions.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances: • With other users as necessary to facilitate a transaction (e.g. your name and city are shown on your listings and profile). • With service providers who help us operate the platform (Supabase for database and storage, Twilio for SMS, Expo for push notifications). • If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at legal@marketmoto.app. Deleted accounts are permanently removed within 30 days.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and row-level security on our database to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Children's Privacy
MarketMoto is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at legal@marketmoto.app.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via push notification or in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
